Action girl Avril Lavigne puts her green bikini to the test as she goes scuba diving

Avril Lavigne has the kind of figure that inspires women to get back on the treadmill.
But the singer doesn't spend her free time sweating at the gym or pounding the pavements.
Instead the 27-year-old prefers to keep in shape by staying active - as she showed while holidaying in Mexico yesterday.
Slipping into a skimpy green bikini of her own design budding fashion designer Avril then joined her friends for a spot of scuba diving.

Leaving her luxury yacht for a smaller dingy, Avril donned a scuba mask before diving in. 
Beckoned in by a friend she swam around, enjoying the nature at her resort in idyllic Los Cabos.

She proved the perfect advert for her green bikini, which is from her own clothing range, Abbey Dawn and costs $50.

Avril also showed she hasn't abandoned her alternative style, with an edgy undercut haircut.
Her crop – which is favoured by famous faces including Rihanna and model Alice Dellal -  follows months of Avril dying her hair unusual colours including green and pink.

Along with her bikini and edgy haircut, Avril's skimpy outfit also revealed her tattoos, including a skull and crossbones, star and various writing.

Since bursting onto the pop scene as a 17-year-old 'skater-girl' Avril has always stayed active, but she recently claimed she relied on her busy lifestyle to keep her body in shape.

The singer says her busy career means she rarely gets to visit the gym.
'If I didn't work and was at home and had a normal schedule I'd work out all the time, but it's really hard to do that when you travel because you're so tired,' she told Now magazine.
'My excuse is that I work out on stage, running around all night.'
