You could have made an effort! Wayne Rooney dresses down as he takes a glam Coleen for a romantic meal returning home from tour

 he has been away on a pre-season tour with Manchester United for three weeks so upon his return Wayne wasted no time in taking his wife out for a romantic meal. 

But it appears that he didn’t have enough time to smarten up and looked scruffy in comparison to Coleen who had clearly put in the effort for their dinner date at the weekend. 

The pair dined at Gusto restaurant in Alderley Edge on Saturday but Wayne arrived in a pair of ripped jeans, black trainers a grey polo shirt and a black sports jacket. 

Casual look: While Coleen was glammed up for their romantic date Wayne Rooney looked scruffy on Saturday 

Meanwhile Coleen looked lovely in a cream lace dress with a structured jacket and a pair of nude Louboutin heels. 

And adding to her outfit the WAG had her hair piled up on top of her head in an oversized bun with a pair of gold drop earrings. 

As the couple pulled up, Wayne's attire was highlighted as a smart couple walked into the restaurant ahead of them, with the man wearing a dapper suit.

Wayne has been on tour playing football in the U.S. and earlier today he tweeted that he was glad to be back home.

He posted: ‘Back home with @ColeenRoo and Kai. Nice to be home. Edwins game on Wednesday. Looking forward to it.’

While his trip was for work playing different sides across America, Wayne did manage to find time for some fun and joined his teammates at the Moulin Rouge themed burlesque show at Lavo restaurant in New York during the trip. 

While Wayne was away Coleen has been catching up with friends and family, as well as taking a trip with their 21-month-old son Kai to Dubai. 

The 25-year-old has enjoyed days at the races and nights on the town with her friends keeping her busy while her husband has been away. 

Last week Coleen’s friends are said to have chased prostitute Jennifer Thompson out of a bar, after the 22-year-old ventured from her hometown of Bolton for a night out.
